A Clinical Study of the Magnetic Mattress on Frozen Shoulder

Abstract
|
|
|
For last 30 years, much advance has been made about the relationship between magnetics and human body and various commercialized magnetotherapies were open to market.
In the present study, ASAHI GOGYO HEALTH PAD manufactured by ASAHI KOGYO CO. LTD. was used by 63 out-patients afflicted with "Frozen Shoulder" to assess the clinical effectiveness and adverse reaction.
The following results were obtained by double blind method for statistical analysis.
1) Out of 33 cases, 22 cases(67%) of pain improvement in experimental group, 10 cases(33%) of pain improvement in control group, statistical significance was noted in comparison.
2) The outcome of effect was more common on the second and third week.
3) No significant change was noted in biochemical laboratory findings.
4) No side effect was noted except 2 cases of back pain.
